Well, this week has been rough. Particularly the last day or so. We are struggling through a schedule change with DH’s work, we are having a very difficult week with Bud, and overall we’ve just been cranky and tired. But, there are always moments of joy. Sometimes we just have to look harder to find them. Here are some that stood out to me this week:
- Baby playing peek-a-boo with me…and laughing over and over and over.
- Baby playing “Knock the letter magnets off the refrigerator” with Bud…and laughing over and over and over.
- Baby playing “Cover your ears” with Missy at the dinner table… with all of us laughing each time.
- Yorkshire Tea (I had been out for a few days, but my two new boxes arrived in the mail on Wednesday!)
- Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins (hmmm…I think there’s still one or two left. I’ll be right back…)
- Missy covering me with a blanket, bringing me Kleenex, and rubbing my back when I wasn’t feeling well one morning
- Missy losing her “angry at mom” face when disciplined after I explained that I cared more about teaching her obedience than I did about the picture she had had to throw away. (I love it when I see heart change…)
- Missy apologizing the next day after being caught in a small deceit the night before.
See, there was lots to be thankful for. And I didn’t even have to look that hard.
How about you…anything special brighten your week?
The biggest thing for me this week is that we’re all finally over our colds and able to visit my parents this weekend. We’ve been trying to get down there since March, but between my family’s illnesses and my mother’s two surgeries it just wasn’t working out. Now I’m just praying that nothing happens to keep us here…..again.
Watching my older daughter come into her own and my younger daughter celebrate a birthday. The strong men in my home, and the way they work and play. Hugs & kisses from my kiddos, yummy pumpkin and chocolate chip muffins, rootbeer floats, snuggling with my dh, a house full of love, and especially for the mercies of my Lord which are new every morning.
Hey…I was blog-hopping and found your site. I’m also a home school mom of two daughters, 7 and 4.
I’ve had some of those bad weeks myself…this was great that you found some positive things to remember!
OK…for me, 1) sitting out on our back deck on a summer afternoon reading a good book.
2) Going to the county fair with my two girls and my mother (posted on that!)
and 3) going on a rare date with hubby to see a chick flick!
Great idea!
I’m new to blogging but stop by anytime…
Blessings,
~Tammy
