Bud, since Sunday, has been listening and obeying and generally get along with everyone.
He has been reasonable and cheerful. I noticed Sunday afternoon and thought maybe it was just a fluke or a lucky day. But when Monday went well and he concentrated on his school work and didn't argue, I was quite impressed. Then Tuesday came, with a similar day. He only had to stand in the corner twice (which, in case you don't sense my suprise, is a huge improvement over the usual day). However, last night he started in being rowdy and not waiting his turn during a game we were playing. By the time we put him to bed, I thought, "Here we go again." I was right.
This morning he has already been in trouble, been argumentative, taken forever to get dressed and make his bed, and been unfocused during his reading lesson.
Why is it like this, I wonder? I used to try to connect it to food. Has he had milk? Chocolate? Sugar? Wheat? Corn? There are too many variables out there. Not to mention the fact that at church Sunday he had a glazed doughnut (without my knowledge) and he was so well behaved for the next 2-3 days. That just doesn't make sense if you try to connect food to behavior patterns. I don't know. We just try to roll with it, getting as much done on the "good" days as we can so that we don't get too far behind on the "bad" days.
What a roller coaster ride!
